Here's what some of our clients say!
Team Manager, Family Support and Child Protection
“I found the [Social Worker Well-being - Breaking the Burnout Cycle] session really helpful. Especially when it comes to talking about how when I’m stressed it will also impact on my team. Just being able to speak about the positives and practice gratitude helps and it’s something we will be keeping on our agenda for future team meetings”
Director of Local Delivery, Essex County Council (North, Children and Family Services)
"I wanted to take this opportunity to say a huge thank you for your authentic, professional, inspiring keynote presentation at the North Quadrant Days on 22nd and 23rd July.
You blew us away! The verbal feedback was fantastic!
Thank you so much, you are a Star!"
Service Manager, Children's Services
"I attended the masterclass on 'Breaking the Burnout Cycle' and it's one of the best things I did for my professional and personal growth! The facilitator was amazing and I was engaged throughout the session and wished it could go on longer than 90 minutes!"
Meet Lily!
Experienced Social Worker, Child Protection

"Natalie came into my life at the perfect time really. I was just recovering from two week sick leave and deciding whether I should hand in my notice or if I had the energy to carry on. Without Natalie’s help it would have had to be the former. I don’t think the emotional impact of the work is spoken enough about in our roles and over time this really took a toll on me - and I felt like I was the only one!
For me the trigger was working with family where members were being quite abusive towards me while the risk to the children was extremely high and as I was not processing or talking about it, because I thought I should just deal with it/it was part of the job, the negative feelings began to build and eventually became too much for me to bare.
Before starting the Social Life Coaching Programme, I had no idea about the importance of processing emotions in order to release them or how I could get my nervous system out of fight, flight, freeze and into social engagement. I felt the benefits of figuring out ways to do this immediately. Not only has Natalie helped me to feel as though I can do the role, she has also helped me become a better practitioner as I am now better able to co-regulate with the families I support. It can take time, but I am also learning to build my internal confidence so no matter what happens to me in the day/what a family says to me, I now have the tools to feel safe.
Thank you Natalie! No idea where I would be without you, but it would not be a child protection social worker for sure!"
The Social Life Membership Testimonials
Mbali - Senior Social Worker, Child Protection
"Before starting the weekly sessions, I felt overwhelmed with work and was struggling with how to maintain a balance between work and personal life. I was very confrontational with my manager when faced with pressure and did not know how to tackle issues around support with my manager.
I now feel more assertive and I have compassion for others including my manager! I am able to take accountability for my shortfalls and gaps in my practice and use this as a learning curve."
I have picked up on my stress responses and how this can define my day or how I interact with and respond to others. I have a consistent daily routine and strategies that help me to better regulate my emotions.
Jasmine, Newly Qualified Social Worker - Looked After Children
"Before joining The Social Life I was in a dark, depressive state. Stuck in the vicious burnout cycle.
Since joining, I consciously plan my time, journal daily and spend time with myself to regulate without distractions.
So far my outlook on life and work is so much better, my self talk is a lot more positive, and I'm starting to notice old behaviours and patterns which are detrimental to my growth. My motto now is... I can, so I will!"
Margarita, Student Social Worker
"I joined The Social Life group half way through my degree when I was really in the thick of things at placements and with assignments piling up. I'd heard a lot about burnout, but mostly as an inevitability.
I could feel the weight of the world on my shoulders but I didn't want to give up before I even qualified!
One of the biggest shifts has been changing the way I speak to myself. Being able to reflect on negative self-beliefs helped me to challenge and discuss them in a safe space.
One of these narratives being my relationship to exercise - I always said i just "wasn't an exercise person" and I didn't think this was something I could change.
After realising this self-limiting belief in the group and with the support and encouragement, I decided to challenge myself to find joy in movement and recently joined a morning running club. I now get up early on my days off to go for a 7am run!!
Making these changes has helped me feel better in myself and bring more positive energy to work. It has also allowed me to process and accept the difficult days more by acknowledging the feelings that come up and learning not to identify with them."
